PRESS RELEASE – For Immediate Release
April 9, 2015
By: John E. Fiorentino
Audio Expert Steve Barber who has worked on some of the highest profile cases in history has apparently done it again. Steve, who has worked with Nobel Prize winners Norman Ramsey and Luis Alvarez and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) on the Dallas Police Department dictabelt recordings in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and has analyzed the recordings of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy for the California State Attorney General's office and others has put his considerable talents to work in the MH370 Inquiry.
Analysis of the ATC recordings by Mr. Barber has conclusively determined that the final cockpit transmission from MH370 - “Goodnight Malaysian 370” - was made by the plane's co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid and not the pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah.
Although there has been much back and forth about who actually made the final transmission, including comments by the Captain's wife that the voice was that of her husband, ** this is the first time an audio expert has made a definitive determination.
Synopsis from Steve Barber:
I made a recording of the transmissions from the cockpit only--removing all the transmissions from Air Traffic Control. The co pilot has a very unique feature during his speech when he makes transmissions. Each time the co-pilot would respond or radio in, he adds an "Uh"- before saying "3-7-0" as in "Goodnight Malaysian-uh-3-7-0".
This final transmission like all the others made by this person, all end with "Uh Malaysian 3-7-0". And the other unique feature is, his English is very clear compared to the captain. (The captain's voice was compared to that on a YouTube video he produced)
The audio analysis was performed as part of my own Independent Investigation into MH370 which is running concurrently with the official inquiry. Efforts are now underway on a contingency plan proposal to continue the MH370 inquiry with continuing deep sea search efforts in the event the official search phase of the investigation ends in May. The project would be privately financed with no solicitation of funds from the public. Signatories for the proposal are currently being enlisted with the first sign-on being former NTSB Board member Dr. Vernon Grose*** and the most recent being British Historian and Author Mel Ayton.****
